Connect Game

Connect Game is a psychometric game. A psychometric game measures a psychological construct through a game. Candidates do not take a traditional test, but solve brain-teasing puzzles. This psychometric game offers a better candidate experience and the ability to collect more data in a short time.

“Playing the games was fun, and they are well suited for use across different sectors.” - Sandor Lokenberg, owner of Cariero Recruitment Training Sourcing

The basis of Connect Game is the widely used neuropsychological test the ‘Tower of London’ (Shallice, 1982). Connect Game measures the cognitive skill of planning: establishing a plan to achieve a particular goal. This involves determining the intended goal, working out which steps need to be taken and in what order to reach that goal, and then carrying out those steps.

Connect Game consists of a tutorial and 30 levels. In each level, the candidate must create a path between the two circles by rotating the intermediate pieces. If the candidate gets stuck, a hint can be requested. At the start it is easy to find a path, but as the game progresses it becomes increasingly puzzle-like.

Application
Connect Game can be applied to all issues where insight into planning is important, in both selection and advisory situations. New work requires a plan of approach. To complete a task or project successfully, it is necessary to determine what the goal is, which steps need to be taken to achieve that goal, and in what order those steps should be taken. Planning ability is therefore important for all roles in which work is less routine in nature.
